TCVN 11892-1:2017 specifies requirements for Good Agricultural Practices (VietGAP) concerning the production, processing, and preservation of cultivated products to ensure the following factors:

Here is the detailed description of the contents that need to be implemented in the process of practicing cultivation according to VietGAP standards

1. Trainning

  • Target audience:
    • Direct production managers for VietGAP.
    • Laborers involved in VietGAP production and product processing.
    • Internal inspection staff for VietGAP.
  • Content:
    • Knowledge of VietGAP crop production.
    • Practical skills in VietGAP crop production.
    • Knowledge of food safety, occupational health, and environmental protection.
  • Format:
    • Internal training or external training.
  • Certification:
     
    • Production managers, internal inspection staff: Certification in food safety knowledge required.
    • Laborers: Training in VietGAP crop production or knowledge in VietGAP production and crop management at their specific work stage.

2. Infrastructure:

  • Must ensure:
    • Cleanliness, safety, and compliance with production, processing, and product preservation requirements.
    • Should not cause environmental pollution.
  • Includes:
    • Production area:
      • Must be segregated or isolated from non-VietGAP production areas.
      • Must be covered to protect against rain, wind, direct sunlight.
      • Must have a good drainage system.
    • Processing and storage area (if applicable):
      • Must be designed, constructed, and maintained to prevent product contamination.
      • Must have adequate equipment for processing and product preservation.
    • Material storage warehouse:
      • Must be designed, constructed, and maintained to prevent material contamination.
      • Must have suitable conditions for storing each type of material.
  • Specific requirements:

3. Production Process:

  • Must have an internal production process for each type or group of crops.
  • Production process must include:
    • Selection of production area.
    • Soil and land management, irrigation.
    • Selection of crop varieties.
    • Sowing, planting, crop care.
    • Harvesting, product processing.
    • Management of plant protection products, fertilizers, and other chemicals.
    • Pest management.
    • Product preservation.

4. Recording and Record Keeping:

  • Must record all production, processing, and product preservation activities.
  • Records must include:
    • Internal production processes.

5. Product Management and Traceability:

  • Products must comply with regulations on:
    • Maximum residue limits of plant protection products.
    • Limits of heavy metal contamination in food.
    • Limits of mycotoxin contamination in food.
  • Products must be traceable to their origin.
